The Art of the Precision Prompt: Why 16 Years of CX Led Me to Run a Digital Board of Directors

Across every chapter of my career — from launching a business in the early days of the internet to 16+ years of high-performance inbound sales at Xfinity — one truth has always held steady: your output is only as strong as the clarity of your thinking.
AI didn’t change that rule. It simply made it visible.
As I built The AI Impact Project, I stopped treating AI like a search engine and started treating it like what it truly is: a precision instrument that mirrors the quality of your instructions.
AI doesn’t replace leadership. AI reveals leadership.
1. The Boardroom Method: Why I Use Multiple AI Models
I never rely on a single AI system. I run my prompts through a Digital Board of Directors — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, and Copilot. Each is built differently and sees the world through a different lens.
Why this matters:
Diverse Reasoning: Different reasoning styles expose logical blind spots.
Balanced Perspectives: Varying training data helps neutralize individual model biases.
Specialized Strengths: Some models prioritize creativity, while others excel at logic or structure.
The Leadership ROI: Running a prompt through multiple models takes two extra minutes, but it saves hours of downstream errors and misaligned communication. This is the efficiency modern leadership requires.
2. Audience Switching as a Leadership Superpower
In 1998, I built a notary-signing coordination business from scratch in my spare bedroom. I created my own marketing, training materials, and operational systems. I trained agents to guide customers through 150-page mortgage packages with clarity and integrity.
That required:
Translating Complexity: Simplifying legal jargon for nervous homeowners.
Building Rapid Trust: Establishing professional authority in seconds.
Today, AI allows me to scale that "translation" instantly. I prompt it to “switch brains” depending on the audience: Billing vs. Sales, Technical vs. Executive, or Customer vs. Internal Team.
In 1998, I was a solo founder. Today, I am an AI-orchestrator. The tools changed, but the mission remains: Translate complexity into clarity.
3. Blueprint Before Build: Precision Prompting
AI will do exactly what you tell it to do — which is usually the moment you realize how unclear your original instructions were.
While building my website, I hit a technical snag: my hamburger menu wouldn't display dropdown items. I didn't just ask for "help"; I provided screenshots, code snippets, and specific constraints. We diagnosed the issue together.
The problem wasn't the AI. The problem was my initial blueprint.
To accelerate precision, I use a Leadership Framework for prompting:
Defined Constraints: What not to do is as important as what to do.
Step-by-Step Logic: Breaking "The Big Goal" into actionable sprints.
Tone Alignment: Ensuring the output sounds like an Xfinity leader, not a generic bot.
4. Iterate Until It Feels Like You
In the early internet days, I spent hours designing tri-fold flyers and writing non-compete agreements from scratch. I iterated until it felt right.
AI didn’t give me that mindset — it amplified it.
When building the visual identity for The AI Impact Project, I moved past the "first draft" and pushed through dozens of AI-assisted iterations until the brand felt unmistakably mine.
AI never gets tired. It thrives on do-overs. It rewards persistence.
5. Adaptive Leadership: Evolving at Xfinity
For 16 years at Xfinity, I’ve consistently hit sales goals and earned Elite status. But more importantly, I’ve become a go-to resource for product knowledge and team support.
Now, I am leveraging AI to evolve that impact:
Developing Training Frameworks: Using AI to analyze call transcripts and improve phrasing.
Standardizing Workflows: Creating AI-assisted scripts to help new hires reach "Elite" performance faster.
Technical Literacy: At 56, I am learning Python and Excel automation. I’m not just "learning a skill"—I am building the technical literacy required to lead teams through the greatest industrial shift of our lifetime.
The Thread That Ties It All Together
From 1998 to today, the pattern is unmistakable:
I build systems before they exist.
I learn faster than the environment changes.
I elevate others through clarity and communication.
I treat AI as a partner, not a threat.
I’m not threatened by AI. I’m evolving with it—and I am actively shaping the next chapter by learning, building, and leading with AI.
